Nowe stanowiska interesujących halofitów wzdłuż autostrady A-4 na Śląsku Opolskim

The paper presents new sites of interesting synanthropic plants in the Opole Silesia. Three halophilous species,Plantago coronopus L. Spergularia marina (L.) Besser and Cochlearia officinalis L. were found on road verges of motorway A4 within the section Brzeg – Prądy. All species were observed with very large population sizes. They can thrive because of de-icing of the motorway surface with the application of sodium chloride spray.

Po zakończeniu II wojny światowej na Opolszczyźnie na masową skalę organizowano od podstaw szkolnictwo dla dorosłych. Tworzono kursy dla analfabetów, kursy repolonizacyjne, szkoły podstawowe i średnie. Główną rolę w nich miał do odegrania nauczyciel. Przybywający do tego regionu nauczyciele od 1945 r. w większości posiadali wykształcenie pedagogiczne na poziomie seminarium nauczycielskiego. Niektórzy mieli ukończone uniwersyteckie studia wyższe, a nawet legitymowali się stopniem doktora. Część jednak była bez kwalifikacji zawodowych. Trade-off Performance of Optical Nanoantennas for Solar Energy Harvesting Applications

In this paper, the optimum behaviour of optical nanoantennas, in terms of impedance, directivity, available power, and field enhancement, at a resonance frequency of about 350 THz, will be shown. Optimum configurations are obtained by varying nanoantennas geometry in order to maximize the available power, enhancing the electric field in gap proximity and so the absorptivity. Moreover, the simulation results for aluminum nanoantennas on a three-layers substrate, will be reported, and a trade-off performance comparison among different antennas will be discussed. This study can guide both the engineering and the fabrication of plasmonic nanoantennas.

The non-Gaussian distribution of galaxies gravitational fields

We perform a theoretical analysis of the observational dependence between angular momentum of the galaxy clusters and their mass (richness), based on the method introduced in our previous paper. For that we obtain the distribution function of astronomical objects (like galaxies and/or smooth halos of different kinds) gravitational fields due to their tidal interaction. Within the statistical method of Chandrasekhar we are able to show that the distribution function is determined by the form of interaction between objects and for multipole (tidal) interaction it is never Gaussian. The purpose of this study was to compare the thickness of all inner and outer macular layers between ocular hypertension (OHT) and early primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) using spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) 8 × 8 posterior pole algorithm (8 × 8 PPA). Fifty-seven eyes of 57 OHT individuals and fifty-seven eyes of 57 early POAG patients were included. Quarkonium suppression in heavy-ion collisions: an open quantum system approach

We address the evolution of heavy-quarkonium states in an expanding quark-gluon plasma by implementing effective field theory techniques in the framework of open quantum systems. In this setting we compute the nuclear modification factors for quarkonia that are $S$-wave Coulombic bound states in a strongly-coupled quark-gluon plasma. The calculation is performed at an accuracy that is leading-order in the heavy-quark density expansion and next-to-leading order in the multipole expansion. The quarkonium density-matrix evolution equations can be written in the Lindblad form, and, hence, they account for both dissociation and recombination. A M�ssbauer and ESR study of LiNbO3-Fe2O3 for low Fe2O3 concentrations

Samples of the system LiNbO3-Fe2O3 prepared by water quenching and by the double-roller quenching method in the range up to 24 mol% Fe2O3 were investigated by Mossbauer and ESR spectroscopy. In the water quenched samples up to 11 mol% Fe2O3 only the Fe3+ and the Fe2+ valence states could be detected. The Fe2+ concentration decreased with increasing Fe2O3 content. Above 11 mol% Fe2O3 magnetically split Mossbauer spectra indicated the presence of Fe2O3 clusters. The isomer shift values of Fe3+ as a function of Fe2O3 concentration showed jumps at 6 and 11 mol% Fe2O3, whereas no significant changes could be detected in the quadrupole splitting values.
